Our maximum class sizes are one coach to eight students, this ratio ensures safety at all times, as well as allowing maximum learning opportunity.

All of our safety equipment is top notch and reguarly checked.

EQUIPMENT
All equipment is provided it free of charge for your lesson. If you want to carry on using it for the rest of the day the kit is also available to hire.

We choose every piece of equipment for its functionality and ease of use so you get the very best out of each lesson. The wetsuits we use are 5/4/3mm thickness for maximum warmth and comfort. Our surfboards are foam in construction with soft tops for safety yet also have a harder slick bottom for ease in catching waves. We offer boards in both 7, 8 & 9 foot sizes depending on the conditions and the riders build.

OUR TEAM - Kaz SadiQ

Kaz is our top coach with loads of experience in and around the surf. He is one of the most enthusiastic coaches we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Here is Kaz in his own words:

Surfing is my passion; I love spending time in the ocean. When I first stood up on my board in Porthtowan, time just slowed down. All I could hear was the whisper in my ear of Mother Nature tempted me back for yet another wave. Each time in the water offers a different experience that keeps me thinking and learning.

I realised I wanted to pass on my love of surfing and have been teaching in Cornwall and Sri Lanka for the past few seasons. I definitely feel that instructing is my calling. It's the best feeling in the world to share and have understood the passion I feel for the sport. The look on people's faces is priceless, to watch someone go from nothing to standing up for the first time is so rewarding. And to get to share this experience with people gives me such a buzz.

This is one of the reasons I love coming out to Portreath to do lessons at Surf HQ. Being able to share my passion and help others enjoy the ocean in a safe way really inspires me. I hope that I can inspire others to love and respect the ocean as much as the guys at HQ Surfing School do.

See you in the surf!
